Exemption from business tax for young innovative companies

This exemption, which lasts for seven years, is designed specifically for companies with fewer than 250 employees, meeting certain conditions (contact us for details).

To take advantage of the exemption, a company's research expenditure must represent at least 15% of its total outgoings.

Support for companies employing Ph.D students or Ph.D graduates

This financial support is available to companies with their head office within the Saint-Malo Agglomération area engaged in research work locally and employing either a Ph.D student or Ph.D graduate.

Moreover, the research project must meet one of the company's general strategies, provide effective training within the company and suggest an area of research that is useful to the world of business.

There are also other mandatory conditions relating to the Ph.D student or graduate (please contact us for details).

Finally, this offer of co-funding to cover the theses of young Ph.D students or post-Ph.D projects must be consistent with and complementary to other existing systems (e.g. CIFRE bursary, regional bursary, post-Ph.D bursary etc.).

The annual value of the assistance from Saint-Malo Agglomération is as follows:
- Ph.D students: 1st year: 3,000 €; 2nd year: 3,000 €; 3rd year: 3,000 €.
- Post-Ph.D: 1st year: 3,000 €; 2nd year: 1 500 € (if over an 18-month period).

Support for conferences and other scientific events within the area

This support is available to higher education establishments, research bodies and not-for-profit associations in Brittany which are organising a scientific and technological event that is directly linked to Saint-Malo Agglomération's priority areas. (Conferences for doctors, training meetings and one-day training courses are not eligible).

Funding from Saint-Malo Agglomération is subject to the obtaining of other grants and varies from 1500€ to 2000€.

Support for companies involved in collaborative projects accredited by competitiveness clusters.

Those likely to benefit from this funding are SMEs with their head office in the Saint-Malo District which carry out research in the local area.

Assistance from Saint-Malo Agglomération depends on the completion of the overall funding plan for a research & development project, validated by the various bodies contacted.
The level of funding from Saint-Malo Agglomération is calculated on a case-by-case basis, depending on funding requirements, other funding provided, and the technological and economic usefulness of the projects.
